Find me here tonight! ... Cause I've been magnetic since I was a baby

I'm so excited to see Semi Precious Weapons tonight at Subterranean
Check them out here

They are also filming a live performance for JBTV, which I am heading over to.
Did I tell you I joined their team??
I did! You should watch their show online. Dooo it!
JBTV is Chicago´s longest-running, most respected local TV show dedicated to music lovers and is a byproduct of what goes on in the JBTV music video production house.
JBTV studios offer the ONLY total-environment rock and roll music video production house with a TV show that has been running for 25 years.

Breedlove is opening for SPW.... yes!

Well, its spring and it's time to think about planting the garden.
I love plants + I love gardening, but I kill a lot of plants.
And killing plants makes me feel like I can't do this.
My house is full of plants but for every plant in my house, there is a plant or two somewhere that I have killed. {debbie downer}
In preparation for this gardening season, I have been spending a lot of time over at You Grow Girl {gosh I love this gal} + they have a great article, What Makes A Good Gardener?
It made me feel a lot better, so full speed ahead.

Are you gardening this season?
If so, what are you planting?

I have already planted some seeds indoors of cilantro, basil, chives, etc.
Outdoors, my landlord + I split cherry tomato plants, mixed greens lettuce {i love fresh lettuce out of the garden. my absolute favorite}, bell peppers, chili peppers, + basil, basil, basil.

So, yeah, um, I planted a small sage plant last year, and it bloomed into a beautiful bush. Well, winter came and I never touched it. I didn't cut it back. I didn't cover it. I did nothing. The leaves were still on the bush, snow covered. They looked a little dead, but still I did nothing.
Well folks, after a few weeks in the sun, the darn plant is in full bloom. All of those leaves were still alive! And the plant is flourishing. What in the...???
That is one hardy plant!!
I know many people who can't handle Chicago winters, but this bad ass sage did!

I want to float upon my memories, not sink into the gloaming seas of shadowland

I'm totally gonna rock a one-piece this summer.
Being old never looked so good.

Youth is like diamonds in the sun, and diamonds are forever

My argument for Botox will be this simple statement: Everyone is doing it, why shouldn't I?
Is it me, or, are our Presidents getting some work done?

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

oh, Diana.
my little dreamer.

i love you, but seriously, 120mm film is more bitchy than a teen drama queen on her period.

today i decided to finally go ahead and purchase a flash for you and the 35mm attachment.
i'm a little pissed that urban outfitters never came out with a matching flash for your limited edition beauty, as they promised.

but after long consideration, i have decided, to instead purchase your little sister.
the
diana mini

Diana!! don't be mad! all of those attachments would ruin your intended beauty.
plus, i am traveling to thailand, and your sis is going to pack better.

So folks, if you are interested, I have a Diana F+ limited edition that is up for grabs.
She seriously is the cutest little gal you have ever seen.
Serious inquiries only.

p.s. see Diana F+ Limited Edition at her best over at The Rockstar Diaries

The Following of One Thing After Another

You should go here tonight. All the cool kids are doing it.

April 16, 2010, 7:00 pm-12:00 pm
Free
The Family Room

All the way from Dresden, Germany, Ina Weise came to Chicago eager to become what became the first intern at the design collaborative The Post Family. This opportunity rapidly evolved into a self-initiated artist residency. Over the past year Ina has created a large portfolio including screenprinted and letterpressed works, small scale sculptural objects, and artist books. THE FOLLOWING OF ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER is a multiplatform site-specific installation inspired by her time spent in Chicago.

In true Post Family form, Ina collaborates with Linsey Burritt of INDO. Riffing on the idea of a dodecahedron symbolizing the 5th element or the universe, they transform the formal gallery space into a mystical world of form, textures, and light (or lack thereof), using mostly salvaged and discarded materials from the studio and around the city. Ina will also be displaying other collaborative pieces like large scale letterpress prints executed with Letterform and a projected video installation created by Gus Gavino which utilizes some of Weise’s early screenprint studies.

I've been wanting to blog about summer shoes I have been eyeing for a while now, but seeing as it is my Mancentric weekend, I have decided to post about sneeks.

No longer do I have to covet my Jimmy Choos or Christian Louboutins alone. Men's designer sneakers are growing rapidly. Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo.

Louboutin makes these for women too. I think the boytoy and I should get matching pairs!

A Kanye + LV partnership

Okay, so not everyone can afford the pre-fall 2010 Jimmy Choo collection or bid out $2,000 on ebay for some LV's. Below are some cheaper options.

This weekend is my main man's birthday.
I'm making him breakfast in bed, then taking him to the CHIRP Record Fair, with mini cupcakes from Sugar Bliss for dessert.
The CHIRP record fair should be fun. There will be eats by Irazu, live music + DJ sets.
See you lovelies there.

nobody ever said life was fair.

the stillness is the move

Gli amanti di benvenuto!!
I'm sitting here at home watching {ehem} bad TV and stalking people on Twitter.
Life is good.
@wordsonstyle was tweeting, which is rare, so I ventured to her blog that I shamefully neglect far too often.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I love what she's got going on.

{Fun fact: LooseChange + Words.on.Style work together. We're colleagues. In fact, for 5+ months last year I worked her position while they found the perfect...well, her!}

So, here is the deal. After reading her blog...no strike that...after thinking a lot about this, then reading her blog, I have come to this; LC needs a focus. No?
Maybe I'm having a bad day but, I feel like LC is a little cracked out...ADD running amuck {sorry, older bro is ADHD, it rubs off}. There are design blogs, fashion blogs, wedding blogs, photography blogs, etc. LC needs some sort of cohesion. A path. Right?
LC only knows one thing.....what's going to be the new "color of the year."

I ask you my faithful readers.
Give me your thoughts.
i.will.listen.

And P.S.- WOS you got a busy job, but don't forget to blog. We are reading.

Where are you taking me?

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery- celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from- its where you take them to." - Jim Jarmusch

My beautiful friend, Erin, just started an inspiration blog.

Check it.
