Thank You Jesus.

WhiteKnight

I'm back from Oshkosh and missing it already. It was a jam-packed 3 days.
Yesterday the Virgin WhiteKnight flew in and I think I may have seen Richard Branson as he was exiting the aircraft.
Richie, please take me with you. Please!
Watch the unveiling here.
Baby Olivia's Christening was on Saturday at the grounds Chapel. I stood up as Spiritual Advisor (godmother) and the legendary Paul Poberezny was in attendance. He gave a touching blessing and kissed little Olivia on the head(and gave me a big huge and kiss too!!).

Read about the remarkable man here.
Short post for now. I am very worn out. More too follow.

Prop Fashion

{daydreams+memories : photo taken with my lomography camera 7/07}

This weekend I am heading up to Oshkosh for the EAA Convention. It's the World's Largest Fly-in and Aviation Celebration. (note: I refuse to call it 'AirVenture')

I have been every year of my life. Every single year. My parents have been volunteering for 28 years and my mom is now Vice Chairman of VAA (Vintage Aircraft Association) Membership. They are part of the team that spends 2 months before the convention setting up the massive EAA grounds in preperation for millions of avaition enthusiasts. My dad built, with his bare hands, one of the very first Kitfox planes in the late 80's and was instrumental in advancing further models with his modifications (we also own a Cessna 182.) This year my one month old niece will be there as we will be passing the tradition torch to this newly minted generation. She is even going to be baptised on the convention grounds Saturday morning. So yeah, its kind of a big deal.

You can watch a video that explains the passion and madness here. (im not going to lie, i tear up everytime i watch this {sigh})

I was thrilled to see that The Huffington Post was doing a spread on Amelia Earhart today. If you didn't know, she was the first celebrity designer and the one that made pants acceptable/fashionable for women. Read the article here.

I held my word. For once!
I dyed my hair.
Scooted around and took photos with the Diana+ Dreamer. (which I am about to get developed)
Scored free tix to Pitchfork....oh how I love M83. (Thanks Bill from Piece for the ticket)
My friend, Summer, however, was PMSing this weekend and didn't really want to come out and play. So, sadly I didn't get to play with the sun.

Diana photos to follow.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am fat. Perhaps not fat in fat's standards, but I'm fat.
I need to detox.
I'm going to start {for one week} a juice detox. Gwyneth Paltrow recently did a Cleanse, although it must be so darned easy for her. {sigh}
There is this great little deli by my work called Brian's Deli and Juice Bar where I can get freshly squeezed vegetable juices. The only problem... they serve some very distracting falafel. And we all know I love me some Middle Eastern {wink}. ehem, back to food.
The plan is to have two juices a day and one salad {ingredients from my garden} for one week.
Can I do it? I don't know? I am beyond weak.
Will you help me?... Please?

Find me here tonight....

Tonight I'll be at the Green Mill watching my baby play with the Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra.
My squeeze used to be on the bandroll but it started interfering with his other work, so he gave it up. But tonight he's sitting in and I'll be there swinging away.
If you have never been to the Green Mill on Thursdays, you are missing out.
Gresik's show is set to an old 1930's radio program and features some really great talent.
It's a great singles bar too!!
Green Mill Lounge
4802 N. Broadway
9pm-1am
The Mill is open till 4 or 5am
See you there!

Somebody's Watching Me

I love this video. It's so classically bizarre.

Just received the new Wallpaper in the mail.
It's the Sex Issue with Limited Edition Cover by Peter Saville and Nick Knight.
Yep, pretty sure I'm reading the nudies at work. Sweet.
You can watch the making of Peter and Nick's cover shoot here
