As you continue a quieter phase on the sidelines, take the opportunity to evaluate some recent conflicts in your life. You can take things in new directions -- all that's missing is a real plan. Today you should have the time and resources you need to figure out the next steps for an old relationship. Be honest with yourself and admit that not every relationship is meant to last forever. All this introspection will fade soon, so delve as deeply as you can now.

Falling...

First it was denial, then anger, but, I've accepted that it is fall.
And this weekend my bestie, Owen, is having his b-day celebration at a farm in the middle of nowhere.
(note: another attempt to recreate childhood memories.
last year it was at a roller rink, and, it was amazing.)
We are going to pick pumpkins, roll in the hay, get lost running in a corn maze, laugh (hysterically), love, and eat apple pie.
This got me thinking about all the things I do enjoy about fall.

apple cider (hard)
sweaters
cuddling closer for warmth
fireplaces
Halloween anticipation
pumpkins
apple orchards
hot apple pie
adding layers to favorite summer clothes
seasonal eats like pumpkin waffles,
Chinese-style jasmine rice+chicken soup, + squash risotto

I can't wait for the weekend!!

To. Die. For.

My Dearest Vera,
It's been so long since we've been able to catch up. Your Spring collection is stunning.
Please send one of each to my home address. I'm sure you still know it by heart.
Much Love,

two things...

First:
I miss my roommate.
Second:
Patiently waiting for my bangs to grow out so I can do the side braid.

P.S. I'm done with 120mm film. I am. I'm throwing in the towel and getting a 35mm attachment for my dirty little whore that is Diana. 120mm film and I do not get along. And I can't afford to keep paying for her temper tantrums.

I would love some advice and/or help.

Your advice is welcome. Like seriously.

it's true, i'm such a whore.

Black, White and Stitched all over

“BEST OF SHOW” with origami ornamentation

Some very talented ladies at my office just won "Best In Show" at the IIDA Chicago fundraiser, STITCH

Perkins + Will and DL Couch Wallcovering took the theme "Black, White and Stitched All Over" and give it a Japanese twist by folding the pattern "Glitra" into hundreds of origami stars to create this luminous gown. Glitra is the perfect material choice, as it is created from thin sheets of calcium-rich mica that reflect the light and are mounted on 100% recycled paper backing. Glitra is also completely biodegradable. Using three colors, they have created a calibrated gown from black to white, and all shades in between. At the top, we start with black, somewhat obscuring the face and neck, and as we travel down, the gown lightens up, climaxing in a trailing fish tail of pearly white! Our sponsor was DL Couch Wallcovering.
Team members were: Christy Reese, Betsy Maddox, Lisa Mettenbrink, Mollie Grojean

Ladies, next year can I play too?? How did I miss this?
