...said the lady in blue after the rain.

The home of Fiona Douglas.
Her house is an inspiring and happy mix of blue and white.
Her handpanted designs at Bluebellgray could brighten my spirits on even the gloomiest of days.

Addict: obsession, compulsion, or excessive psychological dependence

Oh man.
Tracy over at I Appreciate That just posted these inspiration boards.
Man, oh man. I need a teal wall now.
What is wrong with me? I love this color so much it's unhealthy.
My obsession is so bad I argued with my bestie about how I loved it more than her (huh?) and my brand spanking new roommate (of 2 days) came home with a teal rug for her room ("because you are already rubbing off on me," she says).
I.NEED.HELP.
Please read Tracy's post as she is a little more intellectually sane about the color.

without a pause in his gait

I was reading the NYT's and came across this article on Blu Dot.
Blu Dot - I'm a fan.
Chair - Definate fan.
Marketing Campaign - Totally a fan.
Finding shit in the alleys of Chicago- HUGE fan!

My mister's alley is a cesspool of wonderful finds. I'm always picking stuff up without a seconds thought. ... And, I have notable eyewear, thank you very much.
Are you also 'trashy'?

I like this girl. And I like her style.

Apartment Therapy did a House Tour on Jessica Hische's vintage vibe.

And wouldn't you know, she's an illistrator, designer, and does typographic illistrations to boot.
Click here to see her stuff.
And click here for her blawg.

Black, White and Stitched all over

“BEST OF SHOW” with origami ornamentation

Some very talented ladies at my office just won "Best In Show" at the IIDA Chicago fundraiser, STITCH

Perkins + Will and DL Couch Wallcovering took the theme "Black, White and Stitched All Over" and give it a Japanese twist by folding the pattern "Glitra" into hundreds of origami stars to create this luminous gown. Glitra is the perfect material choice, as it is created from thin sheets of calcium-rich mica that reflect the light and are mounted on 100% recycled paper backing. Glitra is also completely biodegradable. Using three colors, they have created a calibrated gown from black to white, and all shades in between. At the top, we start with black, somewhat obscuring the face and neck, and as we travel down, the gown lightens up, climaxing in a trailing fish tail of pearly white! Our sponsor was DL Couch Wallcovering.
Team members were: Christy Reese, Betsy Maddox, Lisa Mettenbrink, Mollie Grojean

Ladies, next year can I play too?? How did I miss this?
