More is More

I spent my Friday night at The Post Family for the opening of Nancy Rosen's More is More and I'm rather tempted to make an appointment for a private showing and pick myself up a piece.

Anyhow, the people at Tremble Tremble spied me during their interview of Nancy Rosen. Can you spy me? Probably not because most of you don't know what I look like.

Oh wait....only my friends read this blog. Waaa Waaaaa

(Click here for the interview as there seems to be an issue with their embedded code.)

And all the pandemonium and all the madness, there comes a time where you fade to the blackness

Line Series No. 01
After 3 years of art stalking this artwork, the lovemate and I are finally purchasing.
I'm really quite thrilled!
It's by Chicago artist Jeremy Ehly
He's your average slacker getting a degree in Bio-Chemistry, working as a Cancer researcher and neuroscientist, then going back to photography and acquiring a Masters of Architecture.
I mean, this guy is like watching the television show Intervention. It's so annoying watching people waste their lives doing nothing while the rest of the world slaves away. {sigh}
Catch Jeremy Ehly's full collection at the gallery on 1932 S. Halsted.
This Friday is 2nd Fridays in Pilsen and is the last night he will be in this space.
Check it.

Let's go downtown and watch the modern kids

I just came a little in my pants.
After I dried myself off I immediately bought the top print.
The posters were designed in collaboration between Ben LaFond of Burlesque Design
and Dan Black of Landland

i just discovered a site that makes amazing iPhone covers.
The place is called Uncommon
uncommon makes customizable mobile phone cases, bringing together talented artists and self-expression, and uncommon artists are not only showcased on their site, but also have the opportunity to earn income through sales of their artwork. not only that, but you can become the artist and design your own cover. COOL.
now, which one should i buy/or what should i design??

Baby, Oh Baby! part 2

Part 2 of the 'kid friendly' wall art discussion centers around Gig Posters.
Gig posters have been around since the 60's, and now, pretty much every indie band has a growing repertoire of gig art. Some, becoming collectors items for music fanatics.
I just love the idea of using gig posters to decorate a child's room.
Here is a small collection of amazing posters.

I like this girl. And I like her style.

Apartment Therapy did a House Tour on Jessica Hische's vintage vibe.

And wouldn't you know, she's an illistrator, designer, and does typographic illistrations to boot.
Click here to see her stuff.
And click here for her blawg.
