there's a fire inside this heart and a riot about to explode into flames

Christian Dior's Haute Couture Spring 2011 Collection
John Galliano, I salute you.

Dear God, please cast me in a John Galliano directed femme fatale murder mystery.
I have never wanted to be a movie star more than after viewing this collection.
A stunning René Gruau inspired collection.

This is exactly what I would want to wear if I murder my lover. Naturally.

The home of Fiona Douglas.
Her house is an inspiring and happy mix of blue and white.
Her handpanted designs at Bluebellgray could brighten my spirits on even the gloomiest of days.

when the shit is bananas

Rodarte teams up with Knoll to bring us some seriously swoon worthy textiles.
I DIE.

makes sense.

this song is my jam of the day.

Too many bad notes playing in our symphony.

Chicago Street Artist, CRO.
In an effort to inspire cooperation and just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2011 I’ll be releasing an exclusive print titled, “THE FUTURE IS…”. This print imagines America, not as it is but as it could be. The fifty multi-colored states are reconstructed into the universal symbol of love — the heart. Ivy which gets its symbolism of connections and friendships because of its propensity to interweave in growth pierces through the country instead of an arrow.

Beijing 220
On this day 3 years ago, I was wondering the streets of Beijing.
I'd like to be there now.

The Great Wall.
I lugged a Polaroid camera all the way up a mountain.
Dedication.
(unfortunately these Polaroids look like crap. sigh. Can anyone tell me why they developed with a purple hue?)

My boyfriend was hired to play trombone for a dance festival.
A tap dance festival.
Whenever my boyfriend gets paid to fly across the globe to play trombone with tap dancing people for the Chinese government he brings me.
He always brings me.

Rehearsal. (Chicago in Beijing)
Most of the time was spent at the theater...Unfortunately.
Try producing an American performance in Beijing with one translator.
Let's just say that I greeted the band every night with a room full of beer + food.
Lots of beer = less angry musicians.

Despite headaches, it was an amazing show with the worlds best tap dancers including
If you ever get a chance to see these two, please do.
They will blow your mind.

(i hope these photos show up. Flickr has stolen my photos until i pay them $25. Pretty bullshit if you ask me.)

There are two jewelry designers that I'm currently obsessing over.
Both are based in Chicago + both can be found at Post 27.

The first is Megan Lorenz of Cities in Dust.

The photos are from Portrait in Metal. Check out the post to find out about her inspiration, the boutique she manages and some of her work.

The second artist is Laura Lombardi.

I love, love, love her work and apparently a bunch of other people do too.
She was recently featured in Nylon Magazine.
Check her out this weekend (er...today. woops, late post.) at the Renegade Holiday Fair.
