Put a Diamond in it.

It blows my mind, daily, how very lucky I am to work with the many talented people at Perkins+Will. On top of that, I usually have blog envy of the beautiful and talented women in my office. Here is a small slice of my favorites:

Estate of Grace :

When I listen to her talk about her adventures, when I walk into her apartment, and when I read her blog I fall in love. A lot. An old soul with an excitement for life that is inspiring.

Words on Style:

This woman is a tour de force. She makes me nervous, and she makes me crazy with drool envy over her musings and such. I totally stalk her on twitter (she knows this) and I pretty much find myself speechless in her presence (or I just run away b/c her impeccable style makes me feel like a 12 year old. {sigh}) Check out her shop, Colifichet, at Market Publique. Do it.

Can I click my heals again?

Jenny Packham.....um, drool.
1930's Glamour and Debutante Balls.
I'm just gonna go ahead and, um, take one of each. Thanks much!

Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times. And think to yourself, there's no place like...

Having trouble breathing.....
Seriously I just teared up a bit.
Monique Lhuillier is my all time favorite.

Someday I will be lucky enough to wear one of her designs. Someday...

Purple haze all around

Last night I made an eggplant pizza.
Mmmm.
{Here is a nice recipe from Epicurious.}
I varied the recipe a bit, but that is what I love about pizzas.
You can do whatever you want and it usually tastes delish!
The eggplant and basil were fresh from my garden. I bought a little Japanese Eggplant this spring from the Green City Market and it has produced lovely.
Another recipe I plan on trying comes from my friend and Chef Efrain Cuevas.
On Monday he had an amazing feast at his new loft for his closest friend.
I died when I tried the roasted eggplant and goat cheese spread.
He used several types of eggplant, garlic and a shit ton of goat cheese.
Put it in the oven and magic happens.
Oh, and I was lusting over his tomatoes and peppers he had just picked from his farm earlier in the day. Just look at those pear tomatoes!

i like to think about all the people that walked those floors.

Strip down and enjoy the weekend with someone you love.
HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

"We love the new collection released by eco-friendly undies line PACT in partnership with the Creative Growth, a contemporary art center in Oakland that "focuses on unlocking the creativity of adults artists with developmental disabilities."
The collection comprises of six prints, each a talented Creative Growth artist: Erin Punzel, William Tyler, Donald Mitchell, Dan Miller, and Maureen Clay. 10% the sale of each pair of sustainably-produced underwear goes towards the Creative Growth, to support their continued nurturing of creativity.
See the full collection at PACT, which is available for purchase beginning today. Our favorite? Stripes, pictured above.

Also, if you're in San Francisco, keep your eyes peeled for a PACT party at Creative Growth, where you can see the originating artworks in person. "

Tout le monde a de l'enfance qui ronronne, Au fond d'une poche oubliée

This beautiful woman is Ashley Burnett.
We met in preschool 26 years ago and have been besties ever since.
You may remember her from previous posts.
She's a rockin' modern dancer kicking ass through the San Francisco art scene.
She's also a therapist at The Pad Studios giving magical massages with her fairy princess fingers.
Well now she is launching a line of jewelry called Tout le Monde.
She recently celebrated the soft launch of her site,
and when she is open to the public, I'll be sure to post.
Maybe she will even give Loose Change readers a discount!

you don't have to believe me, but the way i see it

I used to hat The White Queen, you know. Her head was so small.

Philip Treacy was on Project Runway last night.
Oh, thank you thank you thank you.
I love what Gawker had to say about the episode.
"Are hats fashion? Should one base a dress on an accessory or an accessory on a dress? Why do orchids look like vaginas? These were the very important questions answered by Project Runway last night. We're still a little confused."
"Papa Don't Preach: Hold up! Cunty Michael C has a son? For real? Is he a queen with a son or is he actually straight? Do we really live in a world that is so post-gay that a straight guy like Michael C could be so gay and in the fashion industry and not care that everyone thinks he's gay? Or do we live in a post gay world where it is OK for 'mos to just go around having babies like it doesn't matter. What does it all mean?"

a fire inside.

So last night I went to the Paramore concert, so what?
So my date was a twelve year old, so what?
So I actually left my cushy VIP box and elbowed my way through pimple-faced teens to get closer ... so what?

The fact is, I'm a die hard Paramore fan. I just can't help myself and I'm not going to apologize about it. (how dare you Pitchfork drones judge me!)

On Tuesday, while cursing the sky that there were not enough hours in the day to complete everything I needed, I found myself daydreaming about Hayley's bright red hair bouncing around Chicago on her day off.

My mind was one giant Hayley's Comet of swirling locks.

It, her hair, the fireball, the blaze, inspired me
and I started combing my blogs and favorite websites
to create an HW inspiration board.
