Turquoise

If you have spent any time with me or stepped foot into my home, you know that I love the color turquoise. I have to stop myself from buying too much of it.

Strength, protection from harm, psychic sensitivity and connection to the spirit world.
Turquoise is one of the oldest protection amulets, and was also known as a symbol of wealth in many ancient cultures.
If given a turquoise by a loving friend, that stone would protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune. The turquoise is the symbol of friendship. It also brings peace to the home.
This stone is a very personal and meaningful stone to one who wears it. Turquoise takes on the characteristics of the owner.
Turquoise carries great wisdom of basic truth within it. It is one of the oldest stones known. This is a stone that a person must learn to attune to instead of the stone attuning to the person. It is important that the owner of a Turquoise give it the proper attention.

Lust-worthy Leica

German-made Leica is coming out with a luxe special edition all white M8.

My friend, Jimmy, has a Leica M8 that I've played around with and drooled on

(okay, so I licked it, so what).

I'm beyond lusting for this special edition work of art.

There is not much detail regarding the release, but expect it to be produced in ultra-low numbers. And lets just say, if you have to ask about price, this camera is not for you.

Revised and Revisited

LC is back from the long weekend. While back home, I took a 25 mi bike ride on the bottom road of the Mississippi with my boo and the B.

Pardon the blurriness of the pictures. I was riding and shooting at the same time.






My kind is not wanted in the Twin Oaks REPUBLICAN. ha! All river camps are elevated for flooding.

We hit the end of the bottom road. The daunting climb up the bluffs to Ursa was too much, so we started back.

Back to the riverfront and back up the bluffs to town.
I think I justified a second helping of grandma's chocolate pie.

Look, I'm sorry. I should have put a viewer discretion warning or something. I truly apologize for the oozing cuteness that just happened. But I couldn't help it. It is Easter time after all.

My neighbor kids have bunnies that roam free in the yard. Their house is a freaking zoo in an urban neighborhood! Hanging out at their house is fun because everyone who walks by stops and coos at the bunnies. Last summer a litter "appeared" and my favorite thing to do in the world was to sit with eight baby bunnies sleeping in my lap. It was awesome.

Somethin' Smells Fishy

I have been craving herb stuffed Red Snapper baked in sea salt for a while.

This weekend my boyfriend and I are headed home for the holiday and decided to make this for my parents and grandparents.

We will be picking the snapper up at my favorite Chicago Fish Market, Isaacson & Stein.

Ever the enviro-hipster that I am, I checked the Environmental Defense Fund website and, to my dismay, Red Snapper is on the eco-worst list. Nooo!

What am I going to do? I'm going to have to rethink the whole menu.
